The Polar Bears club is happy to greet you here! This page was made specially for our foreign visitors who want to have a brief outline of the team, its basics and stuff about us.
Principles. We are a club of Russian amateur chessplayers. We are reliable and trustworthy people who formed a team for the purpose of having a stable ground for playing, communication and skill improvement. We respect moral fundamentals and are always fair in playing as well as in dealings with others. We are proud of our team and its high-level organisation.
At competitions we strive to play at our best. We tend to prepare for specific opponents and analyze games afterwards. At leisure time we communicate and have fun. Formed from a circle of friends, the team preserves its friendly spirit at all times. Many Bears wish to improve and they have progress since we tend to help them and study things together.
Members of the club are listed at the right, but it is not easy to become one. High moral standards, fair playing, and ability to respect others are a must have. In fact we have chosen from over five as many players.
Our flag has some special symbolism. The white stripe signifies clean moral and ethical standards; the sky-blue stripe stands for the close group, friendship, mutual help and understanding; and the dark-blue one is our characteristic harsh blow in the fights. The extended flag size symbolizes our long-term cooperation and everlasting loyalty.
